Custom Barbecue Pits in Central Minnesota

Custom Barbecue Pits in Central Minnesota

After spending some time in Texas, I was lucky enough to get a taste of the local culture—and more importantly, the food. It’s like a whole different world down there. The Mexican food is incredible, but what really blew me away was the barbecue. Rich, smoky, and packed with flavor—it's on another level.

When I got back to Minnesota, I knew I had to bring that experience home. I started learning everything I could about offset smokers from a highly skilled welder who knew his craft inside and out. Inspired, I tracked down some old tanks and began building my own pits. Over the last 20 years, through plenty of trial and error (and a lot of cooking), I figured out what makes a great smoker tick—and what makes a bad one ruin your brisket.

It turns out, there's a real science behind good airflow, heat distribution, and smoke control. You can’t just weld a couple tanks together, stick a chimney on it, and hope for the best. But after years of learning and refining, I’ve got it down to a system that works.

From large to small, vertical to horizontal, round or square—I custom-build barbecue pits to fit your needs. Whatever your vision, I can bring it to life. Let’s build you the perfect cooker.

Everyone needs a hand now and then, and not everyone wants to DIY.

Repair, Don’t Replace

We’ve all been conditioned to throw things away and buy new, but it doesn’t have to be that way. Around here, we believe in keeping things going. People might call it being cheap—I call it being smart. I’d rather spend money on fishing gear or something fun for my grandkids than replace something that just needs a little help.

We’re not limited to fixing broken metal. We’ll take a shot at just about anything. I’ve got a soft spot for old Johnson and Evinrude outboards, but we’re open to all kinds of projects.

Need Something Built? We Do That Too.

From simple to more complex builds, we’re happy to provide an estimate. No job is too small, and our shop minimum is very low. A lot of shops turn their noses up at small jobs or price them out of reach—but that’s not how we do things.

Working on a DIY project and can’t quite get it across the finish line? No DIY shame here. Sometimes it’s smarter—and even more cost-effective—to ask for help. You’ll still get the satisfaction of making it happen, just with a little support.

Got an Idea or a Repair? Let’s Talk.

Whether you’ve got a broken item that deserves a second chance, a part you can’t replace, or a great idea you need help bringing to life—get in touch. Call, text, or email us anytime.

And remember: if we take on your repair and can’t fix it, there’s no charge

Burning Restriction Compliant Fire Pits

A Better Backyard Bonfire

No weekend up north feels complete without a good bonfire. But with burning bans and restrictions becoming more common, and those old rock rings turning into smoky, muddy messes after a rain, it’s time for an upgrade.

Our elevated steel fire pits are built to last and designed to perform. Available in 11 gauge, 7 gauge, or heavy-duty 1/4-inch plate steel, these pits can be made in any size you need—with or without a lid. The one shown here is made from 1/4-inch plate steel, has a #10 lid, measures 32 inches across, and weighs over 200 pounds. It’s built to handle years of fires and will take decades to rust out.

No more digging out last year’s fire pit or buying a new one every spring!

Free Local Delivery

We offer free delivery and placement within 25 miles of downtown Mora. These pits are solid and heavy—let us do the lifting so you can relax and enjoy your weekend.

Mobile Boat and Utility Trailer Service and Repair

Keep Your Trailer Trip-Ready

Every year, we see it—boat and utility trailers stranded along the highway. They're packed for a weekend of fun, but a blown tire, broken wheel, or bad wiring has brought everything to a halt. Sometimes the trailer lights are flickering or completely out, making lane changes risky. Worse yet, we’ve all seen what happens when a hitch fails or tie-downs give out—trailers in ditches and even boats in the middle of the road.

Don’t let a simple maintenance issue ruin your weekend. A little preparation goes a long way, and we’re here to help take the stress out of towing.

We Make Trailer Maintenance Easy

We know many of you already take care of your trailers yourself—but do you want to? Probably not. Even pros don’t love spending their weekend covered in grease. Our rates are reasonable, and best of all, we come to you. That means no hauling your trailer to a shop and no taking time out of your weekend plans.
